We dine on exceptional local cuisine and sip the gorgeous regional wine.
Our Vacation/Yoga Retreats are held in lovely villas or country estates. We carefully choose their location to allow for several included excursions to nearby places of interest and the availability of other optional activities to do and see. As with our other offered tours, we dine on exceptional local cuisine and drink the regional wine.
What We Do
Choose Happiness Adventures offers self-guided walking tours along the various routes to the Cathedral Santiago de Compostela. We also offer cycling tours along the Caminho Português routes.
The cathedral in Santiago has historically been a place of pilgrimage on the Camino de Santiago since the Early Middle Ages; and is the reputed burial-place of Saint James, one of the apostles of Jesus Christ. Santiago de Compostela is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
We feature self-guided walking tours through national parks, through the Douro wine region and along the Atlantic coast in Portugal. We have also created a special self-guided walking and cycling tour which includes both coastal and inland regions of the Alto Minho area in Portugal.
We offer Vacation/Yoga Retreats hosted at country villas in Europe and in other destinations, where you can not only practice Yoga and Meditation but enjoy other included and optional excursions to sights nearby.
We offer self-guided walking and cycling tours as well as fully guided walking tours and vacation/retreats. No matter which adventure you choose you will enjoy exploring old-world charms, creating memories, dining on glorious food and wonderful wine, but most of all you will delight in the adventure!
Our Adventures
The Camino de Santiago was one of the most important Christian pilgrimages during the Middle Ages. In fact, it was the third sanctioned pilgrimage by the Catholic Church. The other major pilgrimage routes are the Via Francigena to Rome and the pilgrimage to Jerusalem. Pilgrims have been walking the Camino de Santiago for centuries, following the many paths to Santiago de Compostela and the tomb of St. James.
The main purpose of a Vacation/Yoga Retreat is to help break away from everyday life and move into a space that helps to discover and reestablish oneself by growing spiritually as well as physically. The wonderful part of our vacation/retreats is that yoga is optional and doesn't restrain people based on body type or age. One of these vacation getaways will relieve you from a stressful life while enjoying the beauty of the European countryside.
